Excel Goes Gangsta (?)

As a Grandfatherly Canuck I am somewhat ignorant of the “Gangsta” reality in the US of A but on this week’s wonderful visit to the Collie’s in Cleveland I was pressed into displaying my complete and utter uncoolness (while watching Rob Collie’s wife Jocelyn playing hockey – and yelling “Shoot the puck !!” and “Keep your stick on the ice !!”.  Rob has just posted about this and exposed the picture here:

The reference to Wilford Brimley is a bit sobering but tragically accurate :-(…

Thanx Rob and Jocelyn for you great hospitality and your sweet dawgs.

    Dick, good day!

    sorry for not right place to ask, but it’s about powerpivotpro post

    http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2011/07/guest-post-topn-in-powerpivot-v2/

    in this post they do from powerpivot side calculation
    =IF(RANDBETWEEN(-1,1)=-1,-RAND()*2,RAND())*0.000001

    how do you think is it possible to do calculation like above in Access
    where I’ve got 1.5 mln rows with sales data and there is the tier problem. If I can do it from Access the size and performance in powerpivot will be better. Could it be done in Access?

    thank you very much!

    Not sure what your formula does or why 😉 … I can’t see why it shouldnt be doable but I’d like to see what this is doing before digging in more.
